Dublin III

On the 2nd fo August, in the afternoon, I decided to go downtown to stroll and enjoy this city. I had been in Dublin a few times before, but it was the first time I was strolling alone, without a well-defined plan.  The result, as can be deduced from the pictures, was amazing.

Grafton  Street is buzzing. There are many shops that are worth a visit. You can't miss it.

St. Stephen's Green is a lovely Victorian garden, surrounded by Georgina mansions. Arthur Guinness opened the garden to Dublin citizens in 1877. Ducks on the lake are quite common and easy to be photographed.

The Archeology section of the National Museum in Ireland, in Kildare St.,  has some interesting exhibitions to learn about Irish history.

Strolling throughout the docklands promenade can be very pleasant (depending on the weather, of course).

The Famine Memorial was designed by the Irish sculptor Rowan Gillespie and since 1977 this memorial makes people not to forget this sad period of Irish history.

Custom House was designed by James Gandon and finished in 1971. Nowadays, this neoclassic building houses the headquarters of the environment ministry.
