After having applied for a grant last summer, although unsuccessfully, this year I finally got the chance to spend a whole month in Dublin to improve my English. The stay was part of a teacher training programme supported by the Generalitat Valenciana. And I must admit that the whole experience could not have been better: Dublin and the rest of Ireland are, simply, unforgettable.
The four weeks I spent in the Dublin City University (DCU) helped me in many ways. First, I could learn English with excellent teachers (Eoin, Faye, Gemma and Liam), I revised the principles and teaching strategies that the so-called CLIL methodologies involve, I could improve my knowledge of Irish history and culture, and most importantly, sharing these four weeks with colleagues from other Valencian high schools was an amazing, profitable and lovely experience.
Unforgettable as this month was, I hope this blog could serve to describe what we lived throughout these four weeks, from the 25th of July until the 22nd of August 2018, and I honestly expect this collection of pictures could help remember the wonderful sights we enjoyed and the charming feelings we all experienced. I am pretty sure that Ireland will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
